I followed my brother’s tall, sure body back over the mountains to our cabin, thinking what a crime it was that he could look so good in a hoodie yet be an absolute unhinged psycho. Then he turned to help me around a big rock, reaching a big hand out for me. I took his hand, looking up into that face with its strong jaw and the thick dark hair that matched my own, and I knew my grumbling was only hot air.

Because I’d follow Torin anywhere.

The entire cabin smelled intoxicatingly like turkey and I checked the oven excitedly. It looked so good, golden and juicy and perfect.

Torin wanted to help, so I had him make the gravy, and I bit my lip as I saw the big man stirring the gravy with the tiny whisk, his dark brows furrowed in concentration.

I looked over the cabin, rapidly flicking through the to-do list in my head. The turkey was done, rolls were all big and fluffy, the corn was succulent, the table was set. There was no cranberry chutney but Torin had said fuck the chutney, so I put it out of my head.

I checked the stuffing, feeding my brother a few pieces by hand, getting a little illicit thrill at the brief feel of his tongue on my fingers.

“Fuck, that’s good. You’re the best cook in the world,” Torin said, turning to wrap both his arms around me.

I couldn’t help flushing with pleasure. “I bet you say that to all your sisters,” I replied, and I heard the rumble of his laughter, a rare enough sound that it was always intoxicating to me when I heard it.

I leaned back and rubbed my head on his chin, just for the pleasure of tucking my head under that strong jawline.

My neck was rolled back and he bent and kissed it, keeping the pressure of his lips on my neck just the tiniest second longer than a quick kiss. Just the tiniest bit of suction, just the tiniest hint of teeth.

And, of course, since I burned for him, I couldn’t stifle the little moan that escaped my mouth. I suddenly felt his hand tighten on my belly, and he bent his head down to my neck again, greedy for my moans. And he flicked his tongue on my neck and sucked my sensitive skin in his mouth.

I was weak for him, and I moaned again, bringing my other hand back to tangle in his thick dark hair and pull him closer to me.

Suddenly I heard a tremendous crash, the sound of a fancy glass serving dish full of potatoes shattering on the porch, and I looked up from where my brother was sucking on my throat to see my uncle and aunt on our doorstep.
